History for the IB Diploma: Paper 1

This new series covers the three prescribed subjects for the IB 20th Century World History syllabus.

Written by practising IB History teachers and reviewed by academic experts in the field, this new series covers the three prescribed subjects for the IB 20th Century World History syllabus. The books offer in-depth coverage of the subject and contain a wide range of historical sources and practical advice on approaching the document-based Paper 1 examination.

The IB Diploma is split into six 'Groups' from which students must take six subjects - one from each of Groups 1-5 and then a further subject from either Group 6 or another from Groups 1-5. Cambridge University Press publish resources for Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Theory of Knowledge.

History for the IB Diploma: Paper 1 forms part of Group 3 - Individuals and Societies.

Allan Todd has been a teacher and exam workshop leader of 20th Century/Modern World History for more than 25 years. He has been a History examiner for over 10 years. He is also the author of numerous GCSE and A Level History textbooks.

Jean Bottaro teaches South African, African and Modern World History in South Africa. She is an experienced examiner and moderator and the author of numerous history textbooks.

History for the IB Diploma: Communism in Crisis 1976–89
I particularly liked the clarity of analysis and the fact there were extracts from a wide range of primary and secondary sources. It is an excellent book which would be very useful for both students and teachers.
