Coding Club

Learn the basics of coding quickly with a unique new series of books that will guide young programmers to create their own versions of familiar games and apps.

Have you ever wondered how computers can make so much happen? How do they perform calculations, show movies and run amazing games? These are all examples of computer programs or applications (often known simply as apps).

Coding Club is a unique new series of coding books that will guide young programmers to create their own versions of familiar games and challenge them to adapt and experiment with programs.

With clear explanation and step-by-step layout, the series starts right at the beginning and will work its way up over four flexible levels. The skills required for each level will be introduced in the core books and the additional books at each level will give young programmers the chance to develop and practice those skills in an area of their interest.

Let us know what you think

Set myself the task of learning Python this week so that I can decide how to integrate it into my school curriculum from September. I absolutely love your book "Python Basics" - have had a brilliant day working through it and the teachers' resources on the Coding Club web page.

Jonathan Brough, Headmaster, Hurlingham School

I purchased your book as soon as it came out and gave it to my 10-year-old son. It has been very effective in conveying programming concepts to younger ages. I think you've accomplished what so many others have set out to do and it's even better that you did it with Python version 3. When I found your after-school materials, I pitched a program at the school where I work for grades 5-8 (ages 11-14). The response has been overwhelming, I had to add a second session, and I'm about to order 40+ of your book. I just wanted to share my gratitude for such an accessible and effective learning tool. I will be sure to contact you at the conclusion of my program to let you know how things went. Thank you so much!

Jackie Wilson, IT Director, Avon Grove Charter School

The books are short and pleasant to the eye. A lot of effort has gone into the typesetting and illustrations, while the landscape orientation with the spiral on top is original and practical. Anyone teaching programming using the Python programming language will certainly find these books useful. Its project-based approach is appropriate, grasping and followed consistently throughout the series. It could also serve as a quick overview of Python for those already familiar with other programming languages.
